Watch for your copy of the proclamation in the mail.
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard have both proclaimed Thursday, October 19th as International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) in the respective states. That is exactly one week from today!

On this day, credit unions worldwide will come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day and the role that financial cooperatives play in improving the lives of their members. All credit unions share a common goal to offer access to affordable services to all of their members and provide even the most disadvantaged the tools and the opportunities to be financially self-sufficient. This is the credit union difference that makes a real impact in our communities, in our state, and in our world.

CUAD will be providing a very nice quality copy of the proclamation to each credit union branch. If you have not yet received your copy, you will very soon. We encourage you to share this with your employees and members, because ICU Day is a “big deal”. Consider framing and displaying in a visible location or even setting it on a table with some refreshments on ICU Day. Post a picture on Facebook and other social media platforms and be sure to use #ICUDay.

This International Credit Union Day, we hope everyone will join us in celebrating the credit union difference, our proud cooperative heritage, and the wonderful opportunities credit unions and cooperatives offer members in the Dakotas.
